About Laurie

Laurie’s career as a performing and teaching harpist spans over three decades. She is respected for her performances for Houston audiences and beyond, having performed with:

  • ROCO (River Oaks Chamber Orchestra), principal harp and recitalist

  • Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet orchestras, as substitute harp (including US tours with the Houston Symphony and performances in Carnegie Hall)

  • Grand Teton Music Festival and Sun Valley Summer Symphony orchestras, guest harp

  • St. Louis Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Florida, North Carolina Symphony, Houston Chamber, Madison Symphony, Green Bay Symphony and New World Symphony orchestras, guest harp

She has appeared as concert soloist performing concertos throughout the US:

  • Ravel, Introduction and Allegro, with musicians of the Houston Symphony on subscription concert series (2019), St. Cecilia Chamber Music Series (2019) and Greenbriar Consortium (2019 & 2006)

  • Mozart, Concerto for Flute and Harp, with Leone Buyse and the Houston Chamber Orchestra

  • Ginastera, Concerto for Harp, Concord Chamber Orchestra (Concerto Competition First Prize Winner) and University of Wisconsin-Madison Symphony Orchestra

  • Debussy, Danses Sacree et Profane, Lawrence University Symphony Orchestra

  • Liebermann, Concerto for Flute and Harp, Brazos Valley Symphony
